A minibus is a larger vehicle designed to transport groups of people. Hiring one is a great way to avoid the hassle of a multiple-car convoy, making it a convenient and cost-effective option for group travel. It’s ideal for family holidays, corporate events, sports team trips, or special events.
The available vehicles are typically 10-seaters, such as the Toyota Hiace or a similar model. These vehicles are modern, comfortable, and have enough room for both passengers and luggage. They come equipped with features like air conditioning, rear air vents, and entertainment options such as Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth/USB connectivity.
Standard hire includes 100km free per day and standard liability cover. You will also benefit from a digital express check-in process.
Minibus hire is available from Alpha Car Hire’s location in Melbourne only, with a convenient branch near Tullamarine Airport.
For the 10-seater minibuses available, a standard Australian car licence is all that is required. However, be aware that larger minibuses (e.g., 12-seaters or more) may require a different class of licence, such as a Light Rigid (LR) licence, especially if the vehicle’s gross vehicle mass (GVM) exceeds 4.5 tonnes.
Minibuses are heavier and larger than a standard car. You should allow for more space for braking and manoeuvring, take corners slowly, and be aware of larger blind spots. It’s a good idea to familiarise yourself with the vehicle’s controls before you start your trip.
